Dear Members,
Last year, National Grid made the strategic decision to sell the Grain LNG business. Since that time, we have undertaken a significant amount of work in conjunction with our regular operations navigating this process.
I am happy to announce that the sale of Grain LNG has been completed, and the terminal is now owned by a joint venture between Centrica plc and Energy Capital Partners LLC, both of which have strong experience in the energy sector.
Centrica plc is a British energy company that supplies gas and electricity to homes and businesses in the UK and North America. They own British Gas, one of the largest energy suppliers in the UK, and are focused on moving towards renewable energy to reduce carbon emissions.
Energy Capital Partners LLC (ECP) is an American investment firm that invests in important energy infrastructure, focusing on the energy transition and decarbonization.
As we start this new chapter, we remain committed to being a safe and responsible business in the local community. We want to assure you that there will be no changes affecting the village during this transition. However, you may notice changes to signage and vehicles as we begin to remove National Grid branding.
We understand that transitions can bring questions. If you have any enquiries, please feel free to reach out to our media enquiries team at [email protected].
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Best regards,
