It has come to our attention that some children have been riding their bikes and or skateboards outside the Village Hall and creating ramps in the road using bricks and boards.

While it’s lovely to see children enjoying outdoor activities and away from their screens, we do have concerns about their safety.

Due to the limited road infrastructure on the Hoo Peninsula, this road is increasingly used by vehicles, including articulated lorries travelling at considerable speed.

We would like to remind families that the Recreation Ground at Heron Way is always open and includes a halfpipe that children are welcome to use.

Additionally, the materials used for the aforementioned makeshift ramps are often being left in the road. This not only creates a trip hazard for pedestrians—especially as there is no pavement—but also poses risks for road users.

Please remind your children to clear these items away and to use the designated park for their activities.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and helping keep our village a safe place to live.
